Lea Lemos Costa (b. 2000) completed her Drawing BFA at Camberwell College of Arts in 2022 before moving to Brighton. Taking her lead from the Surrealists and their exploration of the farther reaches of consciousness, she creates tactile shapes on the canvas that hover at the edge of abstraction. Hers is a process of making strange, gradually removing context from familiar objects until they straddle the line between real and imaginary.
